The Springbrook National Park (2954ha) is recognized
as one of the world’s most outstanding and valuable
places. In December 1994, the UNESCO World Heritage
Committee officially extended the Central Eastern
Rainforest Reserves Australia World Heritage Area
over the Scenic Rim- a large part of Springbrook National
Park. The World Heritage status is a prestigious international
recognition of the important conservation values of

are survivors from an era when the climate was cooler
